Karma

A question i ask you a Question!

Recently on facebook someone posted about Karma. Interesting subject and one that is rather contradictory at times not to mention open to opinion one which i think i had in the comments to my friend who posted the status on karma.

It was asked on there status:

who is the person that deals with karma ? who says, what wrong deserves what punishment ??

For which i replied, note this is my opinion based as a response i thought i would blog for your food for thought. Continue reading

FREE Software Freedom

Freedom Free software Vs Proprietary business

I thought i would make a blog post about Free software that would be Free as in freedom to do as you wish. The current understanding of this on the net and around the world is a bit sketchy. Many people think there is unemployment attached to free software and or releasing source code of a application.

Points i want to cover in this post:

  • Business with open and closed source
  • Differences between open source and free software
  • Closed source software
  • Microsoft Business model (closed source software)
  • Freedom
  • Human Rights(not man made rights)
  • Sheepeople

The video bellow is a long video of a lecture speech that Richard Stallman gave in India. Mainly for the education and progression to the schools and children studying in India.

It point in the video is that as an education authority not just in India but worldwide is that education must enforce the principles of freedom, NOT to be locked down to a proprietary software. Children MUST be educated to be able to choose whatever route they wish to choose in life. No one must restrict or stop you in any way. Richard goes on at the end of the video to explain how Microsoft and Autodesk AutoCAD give Gratis copies to the schools as to manipulate the children to become proficient in a proprietary commercial expensive piece of software. Effectively making the children dependent on there proprietary closed source software. Much like a addictive drug. I hope my readers can be open minded enough to understand the severe dangers to our children and freedom today. Continue reading

Our freedom is destroyed (Intelectual Property protection)

The real deal SOPA PIPA IPP

As i am sure most people are aware of the recent commotion regarding the SOPA bill, yet something many have let slip by or have not realized has slipped by. Something that has been about for quite a few years that is imperative that it is confined to the furnace bin never to be exercised again.

Intellectual Property Protection, the biggest most frightening problem we have regarding our freedom on the Internet today. Its the real heart(root) of the whole need for SOPA.

If alarm bells are not ringing in your head by now well they should be. Intellectual property protection is known as software patents where its primary purpose is to patent software technology. This is to include things like software alogarythms or complex software design. Things like HTML language or mathematical applications such as Matlab.

The problem begins when someone patents a program like Matlab or Autocad. This patent allows them to become a monopoly. If you or anyone else decide to make a similar program it violates there patent and means you must pay them royalty. You probably think well this is ok, then how does healthy competition occur. There are more than one way to skin a cat meaning you could make something to do the same thing just in not the same way your they did it. All that said this is only implicated if someone intends to sell the product commercially. Rightly so as your invention deserves royalty paid to you, you did invent it after all. What happens when it is not an invention?

The above video is a great resource provided by google in regard to patents and its terrible down falls, highly destructive nature, specifically to the public. Although it helps to fuel investment for large corporations this is non focused on the public. A great example in this video was that a 20 year software patent is a strain on innovation, restricting future competitors resulting in stupendously high prices. When another competitor arrives on the market to offer a cheaper maybe even better solution they are then crushed by the exclusive large firm explained @20:18 in the above video.

  • The video bellow is Linus Torvoids talking about Microsoft now in todays day being the infringing exclusive firm on our freedom and human rights.

Of course it is clear that granting exclusive rights to companies is a great way to bring in investment, share holders and the likes so that the technology and or software can progress to a further commercial stage. That said it is also clear that with the granted right comes detrimental destructive use that is used for monopolizing a product. Further more it infringes on our freedom in such a way that our choices are forced to have to comply with the companies exclusive rights. This is clearly seen in the open source Linux space where nothing is commercial or is sold, in fact it is yielding far more innovation than commercial software vendors. The open source space has taken a huge battering from Microsoft in that patent claims have cause very limited video and sound drivers, graphics and multimedia application innovation to a halt.

Even worst for those that did not catch it in the first video @34:13 what an amazing example of infringement of human rights if we can still call them that. A patent taken out not(NOT) buy the scientist who developed the abortion method but a random patent filed granting him exclusive rights to weather a woman in America can have a first trimester abortion or not, clearly infringing on her constitutional right. Do you still think this is not a problem?

Why? as mentioned in the video software innovation is driven buy incentive from customers needs. most software companies build a software package to a customers need so in all due respect it is the customer that is the inventor. Should he not own the patent?

There is a law within the UK that if anyone else knows about the invention it automatically becomes NON patentable no matter what you do it can not be patented as it is not unique anymore. Only the inventor and the patent office or persons directly involved in the patent know about it until the day it is filed. Therefore the above customer driven incentive/innovation would and could not be patented, obtaining a patent in this area would be void due to obtaining it under false pretenses. You falsified your claim stating that you were the sole inventor of the technology.

I may be further updating this post as and when new information develops or further study develops a worthy blog. Bellow is a video blog from a youtuber who shares his understandings and points about software patents. Very interesting video of his points many i agree with.

Guys are supposed to chase the women

Hello all

Just another crazy sane blog post haha.

Its a new year frosh 2012 and i cant speak for others yet i fell there is allot of love in the air, with valentines approaching in February and the time moving very fast it pleases me to see people actually paying attention to courting and the fun aspects of dating and relationships.

A friend of mine on FaceBook posted an intriguing status which got a fair level of attention something that men related to more than women, maybe it has to do with the lack of education in schools today in relationships and dating. Saying that though i dont think its is the schools problem to teach children today the correct respectful way to treat a lady or approach a lady if one wants to fall in love with her. It is of course the parents responsibility yet parents can only teach there children if they know how to themselves. Thats why it is very important to have both parents mother and father in any upbringing.

Cutting to the chase the status i found intriguing that triggered me to post this was:

  • Ur the guy, ur supposed 2 chase after us. we pretend not 2 notice u because we want 2 c how hard u r willing 2 try. 😉

Apart from the modern short hand lingo or urban dictionary usage she has a very valid and intriguing post. In this response the word STALKER is used which poses an interesting point by some other posts posted in the comments one was:

  • If you chase and they don’t like it your a STALKER

Me being me i could not resist but respond to this with:

I agree but you still need to give a dog a bone as one puts it. Due to the reaction from some women calling men perverts and stalkers because they try so hard to show the woman they like them so much its become a very fine line between the two. He who camps outside your house or follows you down the street on every move is a stalker maybe even a pervert yet this phrase stalker has been used outside of these actions such as stalking someones facebook profile. Question is in all honesty visiting a lady’s profile sending them nice non sleazy messages and fb pokes, does that really make that person a stalker or a person who wants to try anything and everything to impress you and grab your attention. A zero response to them could indicate a lack of interest because allot of women dont know how to tell a guy there not interested so they ignore them. That said many probably more than most men can not handle rejection but thats there problem not the womans.

I finished by saying:

Moral of the story is DO NOT BE CRUEL and string them along for your own ego. That really is cruel. If you dont like them tell them in a nice way, “Your really nice and everything but sorry your not my type” something like that. Everyone can know where they stand and no one gets lead down the garden path.

Yes men are supposed to chase women but your not supposed to ignore them, i also hope that this definition of a stalker is not perverted or misconstrued against a man who becomes besotted or a man trying hard to be romantic in the hope he could capture there heart and attention. After all the good guys put in the effort the bad guys just want sex quick simple and easy. I have another post discussing this something much more in-depth yet related to this post.

Love and peace.

Daily Express say Millions afraid to turn on the heating

The Daily express say that millions will be afraid to turn on there heating but wholesale price have dropped, The daily express also ask us what do we think should be done in this dilemma. Sounds familiar to the fuel prices (petrol/diesel) 10 years ago don’t you think.

Snippet from the Daily Express Facebook page:

  • Millions of people will be afraid to turn on their heating this winter because of rip-off energy prices. Wholesale electricity and gas prices are plummeting, but the energy firms keep charging us more. What do you think should be done?

My answer to this dilemma:

Easy problem to solve this. Think about it, when a shop charges too much for something what do we do? Shop around thats what we do, we find someone else who can provide it at a cheaper price.

Although that sounds simple to the everyday person in changing energy companies one must remember your costs are in lou and contract terms apply.

I say lets step it up, Remove the ability for any energy companies to sign you to nothing more than 1 hour. No more 12 month or 24 month contracts for gas or electric. This opens the consumer up to move to the cheapest supplier at will whenever he/she finds a better deal.
Make it illegal for energy suppliers to hold you against your will with them for an outstanding balance. The balance must be taken to the reading that you left them at to the minute and be chased up as if it was an arrears for a product purchase. They must never be allowed to tie you down to them. Why? because it allows the consumer to choose freely meaning the energy supplier must provide exceptional price or service to keep you as a customer based on consumer satisfaction.

When there faced with a free internet/high-street shop to shop market they would be more inclined to keep you shopping in there store with the better price as you cant taste or sample the quality of electricity and gas. Its all the same supply just different organisation charging you.

21st Century Love decent men/woman don’t seem to exist

Recently on facebook one of my friends made a status update asking all she wanted for Christmas.

Here is what her status read…

  • The only thing I want for Christmas is a decent boyfriend… I don’t ask for much really, do I? Except decent men don’t seem to exist in the 21st Century… Not such a revelation, eh?

This made for a great topic and i felt compelled to respond yet in many cases it could be said the following reply would and could have fell on deaf ears.

Here is my reply:

Everyone’s perception of a decent man or woman is different. If we were all the same life would be one boring place.

All i can say on this is that you must open your eyes, that decent man may not be what you percept as a decent man. The non-decent men you speak of are very good liars and in all fairness you will not see through there outer face, they will cheat you and fool you into thinking there decent only to find the truth later on down the line.

That said you can find many decent men but will you be compatible well there is another thing… No one should change for anyone else but only compromise reasonably. We are again all individuals. Never try and change anyone let love grow naturally, give it a chance with a decent man.

This is turning into an essay yet its a deep subject so ill stop here. Just look behind you there are more decent men than not. Never find this man in a night club there is only one reason men cultivate these establishments and you can guess why.

Remember a top quality romantic dinner date means something, an invite for a drink means get your knickers off. Simple really. Hugs X

Now interestingly concidering her age being in the early 20’s one could argue it could be immaturity or maybe just the lack of knowledge, if so then it could well be connected to the education system and or upbringing.

The point being here is that many women reject a man asking a woman out to a romantic dinner date in today’s day where they are more inclined to accept that bar/night club night out drink. It does not take a genius to work out that the majority of men would be taking a girl out for drinking in these places for one thing and one thing only, or at least that’s what there intention is at the start anyway.

Spending some time to really understand a persons real intentions by there initial actions is something that is becoming lost in the 21’st century. I do not mean judge on this just being able to have the capabilities to question motives in all situations.

The final question that leaves us to ponder on is:

  • Why when asking a woman to a quality romantic dinner date in today’s day make the woman turn her nose up, disinterested and not willing to participate in the date?
